OVERVIEW
The Light House Education Center provides high-quality academic classes taught from a Christian worldview perspective. The classes at TLH are designed to enhance, not replace, the teaching of homeschool parents. We consider it an honor to partner with parents to ensure their child develops a love for learning that will last a lifetime. |
TIME REQUIRED
High school students grades 9th -12th are expected to spend one hour per class subject per day on class assignments. For the lower grade levels K-8 the assignment time per subject will be slightly lower.

PARTNERSHIP
The parent, student and teacher relationship is a vital part of the success of TLH. At TLH, we honor the God-given authority of parents to be their child's primary educator. We carefully hold fast to our purpose statement: to give quality Christian education that will educate children in cooperative harmony with their parents. Therefore, parents can expect the teachers at TLH to work closely in partnership with every family. TLH teachers will provide class instruction, home assignments, progress reports and final grades. Students should prepare for the next class day by reviewing concepts, drilling facts, and preparing written assignments, etc. Many courses at TLH involve a large amount of reading. Parents need to be prepared to read with their student, especially during the elementary grades. As the student advances to higher grade levels, parents are still required to be actively involved in their child's education. At this point, the parent’s role is one of mentor in order to prepare the student for independent and responsible study habits required for success at the college level. |
At TLH we provide a loving environment in which to develop and nurture a child's enduring relationship with God and family, while cultivating a passion for learning that will encourage godly character. Character is developed when a student is taught to complete their assignments with excellence, to be prepared to participate in class, and to arrive to class on time.

COMMUNICATION
Communication is essential to your child’s success at The Light House. TLH teachers will prepare and hand out an assignment outline for each class that defines the expectation of the students and the level of assistance required by parents. In order to ensure the proper communication of assignments by students to parents, assignment books are required for every student attending TLH and may be purchased through TLH at orientation. It is imperative that parents communicate with teachers when questions or concerns arise in order for the partnership to work. Parents and students may communicate with teachers by phone, email or RenWeb.
Non-Descrimination Policy: TLH makes no distinction nor does it give preferential treatment in its admission or operating policies with regard to an individual's race, color, or national and ethnic origin (Romans 2:11).
